140 Ish days

Wow, almost a 100 days post op!!! Just to have the other foot done in october, really hoping for the beginning of October, we recently found out we are leaving the island beginning of march! Aargh!!!!

Ok! Anyway, I did hot yoga last Thursday! It was frikin INTENSE! I burned 1050 calories in like 1 1/2 hours, doing yoga! The sweat was out if control, bikram hot yoga is great, basically you are in a room (monitored obviously) that is 108 degrees! Felt great though! Also workout daily, able to do anything I want comfortably, still not running though! But will do a light jog!

The pain is rare, I do get some stinging randomly, and it gets a bit itchy, but nothing to terrible! It's all getting better ;)

My next procedure will include a plate and four screws, chevron bunionectomy ??

108 days!

Wow, it kind of seems like yesterday, thankfully it wasn't, but unfortunately that reality will become true, as I need my second foot done! Damn!

Still healing, it swells a lot when I am in an airplane, like when I came to and from Wisconsin! Like cankles!

Still doing my stretches, getting less gimpy when I get up, and after sitting, toe is getting more movement, still clearly not 100% more like 60% I'd say, since they said it could take a full year, I'll take the 60%, I guess...

Next appointment, that was suppose to be in July, will be next Friday, since I went home for a month! Which was a great trip!

Post operation 3 months! I can feel a difference, I can now wear socks and shoes and not feel all stuffy, it's still annoying!

Home! It's been fun so far, I surprised my mom and sister, it was pretty epic!

The weather is one word HOT, I miss Hawaii weather, not so stinking humid out!

With all this heat and walking my foot is pretty swollen most times, but waking is good, easier when I don't wear socks! I'm now coming up 3 months post op!

It's been awhile

I realized I haven't blogged in awhile, only because I've been so caught up in the 50 shades of grey books, I'm not sure I've ever read so much in my life haha!

Anyway, everything is going well with my foot, thankfully! I've been working out often and have regained most of my strength in my legs, my ankle still gets sore, and my range of movement is improving, although it still angles to the right a bit, but it's getting there! My gym shoes fit better also which is a relief! It is still pretty stiff in the morning though, and can't walk normal or barely at all without a shoe! It still has a long way to go for that to be normal again! Time will tell :)

66 days!

Things have been good!

My toe is moving more, walking can still be a challenge, especially shoe wise, I really don't like wearing my husbands shoes out, I look like I'm wearing a skis lol, so I wore my etnie's lol that hurt, my foot hurt!

I got home then and looked at my foot, I was worried my toe had got jacked, but I guess it looks normal, I need to figure out the shoes, I wear my Asics to the gym, they are a tad tight, but can move my toes, this swelling needs to subside!

I'm trying this diet, no processed foods, it's going good so far, only second day though, I woke up sssooo hungry! Yesterday's food intake included

A smoothie, including, pineapple, strawberry, blueberry, peaches, almond milk and some seeds

Can of tuna w mustard lol

Then a potato (baked)

Grapes for a snack!

58 days post op

Today I went to the gym, came home, went to shower, this is when it occurred lol, BOOM, my good foot comes out from under me, and I'm then laying in the tub lol, surprisingly I didn't hurt myself at all, especially my toes, it makes my skin crawl just thinking about it lol, but now it's kind of funny, lolol

4 days in the gym, two questions about my issue, one was why am I wearing two different shoes and the other the guy at the desk thought I hurt myself while working out, since I have a gimp lol! Hopefully soon I will be walking a bit better and HOPEFULLY I can wear my own damn shoes, and not one mine one Matt's, also when we go out I won't have to wear his huge Asaics! Oh well at least I'm walking!

Blogging from the gym!

Yay! First workout post operation, which is now 8 weeks prior today, I'm still limited, i can lift a small amounts on my legs to start, can ride the bike, no running though, or even jogging, shit I'm still gimping around anyway! So this is enough! I took me 10 mins to walk here, lol it's about .15 miles away!

Starting slow! Swelling is going down and can move a bit better, can get it wet too! Gotta call the doc forgot I ask if i can go swimming!

Well I took my bandage off, it looks pretty good, the incision is closed, just some purple stuff they put on it from last time I was there, I go in tomorrow again, hoping for the best!

Worry wart!

Appointment Monday for follow up! Bringing shoes in 2 sizes bigger, my toe is very stiff, and getting some sharp pains and a throbbing pain from my cam boot, I undo the straps to relieve pain.

This whole situation is making me worried, but working on controlling my nerves!

Just another day!

I still get super squeamish over foot surgery write ups and most defiantly especially pictures! It literally makes me want to hurl! Like trying to read this 8 page write up on the lapidus procedure, I got through one page and stopped, pictures just really make me weak in the knees, here's what I was attempting to read!

While reading others posts about their bunion surgery, and how they can get up and walk one week later, run, swim, and have a life, it really makes me hate my feet even more!

Like what if's make me go crazy, what if I can't walk normal, run ever again, hike, or do anything like I use to, ugh, time will tell, because at the end you can't un fuse the procedure once it's done!

Let's hope for the best!

7 weeks!

Well at least in a couple days it will be!

Walking boot is still on for another week, it's going fine with that, what's not fine is how locked up and stiff my foot gets when I take it off to go to bee, like even right now, I have to muster up all my strength just to lift my ties up to stretch out the ankle, which I know is getting stronger, but makes sleeping annoying, especially since my tie still doesn't like the weight of the sheet and comforter, that can end at any point! So for now I put a throw blanket on it.

So Matt changed my bandages today, frikin eww, this purple dye they put over the incision area is gross, it makes it look just gross, and I'm still decently bruised, but Matt reassures me it's getting better, lol, which I'm sure it is, but as always I want faster results!

Blah, other than that, just been working on these never effing ending transcriptions! So over that too!

Walking is still going well, not much pain, but sleeping sucks, I frikin hate when my foot touches the blankets, it hurts :-/ and last night the cat wants to lay on the only spot that hurts :-/

Lapidus Bunionectomy

YAY!

For whatever reason today I felt like my foot was actually good enough to walk on, and I did it!! YAY! I obviously had the cam boot on, which is just a bunch of cushion and still doesn't allow me to walk regular but more on my heel, which is fine, i guess it means my ankle and stuff is getting stronger because I can actually walk with not much problems, I have been stretching my ankle and trying to get some strength in it when I am not wearing the boot, but it's been good today so far! Let's hope it stays that way!

Other than that, not really much going on here, same shit different day!

Cam boot!!

Well I got my cast off, my foot is so weak, including my ankle, everywhere below my knee lol, I'm not liking it, so anyway I have this on for two weeks...

I need to buy a pair of shoes 2 sizes bigger lol, totally going to look ridiculous, I don't even want to walk on it, it's going to hurt, ugh, I don't have to wear the boot when I'm just laying around, it hurts a bit, but whatever

My kidney still hurts, woke up in pain today and this afternoon, I gave some more blood and urine test today, the dude had to poke me twice, was not a big fan of that :-/ hopefully will find out what/if there is something more wrong!

Update

I get my cast off tomorrow! It's exciting news, my foot has felt great, I'm getting more feeling back in my toes, and can sleep without it elevated! So that makes things good! I thought my appointment was on Thursday but then Friday I got the automated call saying Monday, glad they remind ppl of this lol so tomorrow at 10:40 it should be coming off;)

I also need to get some more blood work done, which kind of makes me nervous, I hope it comes out clear, otherwise more tests to figure out what's wrong, with the possibility of kidney disease, never saw that one coming!

After Friday and spending 8 hours in the ER getting fluids and antibiotics pumped into a very dehydrated body, I received pain killers, antibiotic, and this will hopefully clear up, what they are calling a kidney infection, but I really think its kidney stones, who knows, I just hope it all goes away! I've basically been sleeping, drinking a lot of water, and watching grey's anatomy lol, great combo! I've felt some pain and a bit nauseous but it's been under control pretty much w the drugs!

I shall update soon with the prognosis!

Nell has been by my side since Thursday when I got sick, she's my baby!

AS IF!

As if having a bum foot wasn't enough, I manages to get UTI/bladder infection/and or kidney stones, super amazing, this pain is by far worse than my foot! Ended up going to the acute care clinic where I got literally got the bums rush, we went in at the last minute, not realizing they were closing, but whatever, I just hope the pain goes away! I am frikin miserable!!!!

Yucky!

Well it's my lady time, and it's the first one I've had without my birth control in along time, I ran out last month and with having one car and a cast, that appointment was the last thing on my mind! One word REGRET! Shit, everything hurts!!!! Damn!!

Second thing, I've noticed myself gravitating towards unneeded drama I've decided to pull away from making military friends or offering myself out for help, I really in the end am happy with where I am and who I'm friends with, I guess I enjoyed showing people new things, but in the process, I've put myself out there way more than I should of, nothing happened, but it could of, and that's just not me! So I guess the way I'm looking at it, if someone approaches me to be friends, cool, if not, cool. I've got rid of all the military "support" pages but one, I need something to read lol!

So, only 6 more days until my cast comes off! I've figured end of October will be 6 months, I plan to get my second surgery in December, mid December, which means I'm planning on doing a good amount of hiking and whatever I want in November! Since there is a chance we could be leaving the island between march and may, the second surgery wouldn't allow for me to hike much at all, I also hope we get to visit Kauai before we leave!

My cast is also driving me nuts! It's getting loose and is just driving me nuts! What a surprise a cast driving me nuts! Unheard of!

So Matt signed up for races today is the half marathon, I'm jealous, but whatever, I'm over it lol, well of course it's all the way downtown, and parking was iffy, so I opted to park at this one place, well that is clear across from the finish line, so I only saw Matt at the one mile mark, so now I'll be waiting here for them, won't see them finih, so no pics :-/ I only got a couple of Matt, and those are still pretty blurry, iPad no bueno in the dark lol

My face is still peeling :-/ and hurts! , must learn to leave it alone!!!! Easier said than done!

Blah I'm ready to go back to bed! I'm also ready to be active again, and I wish I was close to the finish line :( I can't move the car bc I might not find them then, lame!

It's been a few days since I blogged, it's been a good week!

Monday, took Matt to work, and went to chilis for lunch with Amy and Alison, then went to pick up Matt...

Tuesday, went to the beach with Jana, totally got sunburnt !!! Paying for that one still! My face is peeling, it pretty much hurts!

Wednesday, me and Matt had a great night, he cooked us dinner then took me up to north shore, the sunset wasn't visible though, stupid clouds, but it was still worth it, we got some shaved rice, and sat in the car at the beach, very peaceful!

Thursday, we went to see the avengers it was like 2 1/2 yrs. since we've been to the theater, it was a pretty good movie, not what I would of picked to see, lol, I would of gone w "what to expect when your expecting" :) anyway it was still fun, Matt got a sbux and I got a jamba, then we sat around and finally went in for the movie, of course got popcorn and a coke lol

Friday, went to the beach with Michelle and Melissa, it was a good time, put some sunscreen on this time lol

Then today did nothing, basically laid in bed, did some laundry and cleaned up a bit, and took a shower, tomorrow Matt has a half marathon downtown, so we will be up extra early for that :-/ lol like 4 am early :-/

Well, I'm still a bit mush brained, not feeling up to doing much! These crutches hurt like crazy! I need padding, they kill my hands and armpit areas!

Tomorrow I'm actually going to take Matt to work and meet a couple girls for a late lunch at chilis (aka margaritas) lol, and then Tuesday suppose to go to the beach, still not sure about that:-/ we will see though, I probably shouldn't bail on ppl, they are going to stop asking me to hang out!

My foot has been feeling a lot better, and I only mildly had a freak out last night, couldn't breath and wanted the cast off, but I worked through it, it was really hard, omg, never felt like that before! Only 2 1/2 more weeks until I HOPEFULLY, fingers crossed, a walking cast, I've taken good care so far, so I don't see why I wouldn't, if I don't I may cry, I have so been able to wiggle my big toe some, and the rest of course wiggle fine, except my second toe is still kinda stiff, no need over do it though!

Damn, I can't wait until I can walk! Frick you señor crutches! (edited the eff word, my mon reads this) omg, Tammy does have a filter and manners! Who would of thunk!!!

Ugh

I'm getting cabin fever, like sleeping far to long, like 12+ hours a night, it's no good, and I'm always tired! It's annoying, but I haven't much else to do, so sleeping seems ok to me!

I miss running, working out, hiking, shit WALKING!! I wanted this surgery so I shouldn't complain, but not getting it, would give me an increased chance of arthritis in my feet, so it makes sense, I'm just finding it hard, and it being half way through, hopefully I've been doing everything right, and will get my walking cast in 3 weeks!

That's the longest I can be out without my foot throbbing from not being elevated, it's rather frustrating! I also need a cast cover, I'd love to go to the beach, like LOVE! So I need to find one, maybe a pharmacy store...

Tonight, I did something I never thought i would do, went to an AA meeting, it was actually really good, kinda gotta suck it up and go for it, I don't have a full out problem, but Matt does, I went to support him and it also opened my eyes to a possibility i have slight problems, and me and Matt together kinda fed off each other, now we just need to keep doing what we are doing and be supportive for each other, not I say I'll never drink again, but I need to think of drinking in a different way, the issue runs in my dads side, and my dad (whom I have no contact with) is an alcoholic, I don not ever want to be like him. So attending classes once awhile will help! Hearing people's stories helps too!

My foot is getting better, I'm really taking it day by day, and try not to rush things, and be patient, I can slightly move my toe but not over doing it, hopefully 3 weeks and I get a walking cast!!!

I also got some flowers from matt today :) they are pretty :) and he grilled me chicken and steak :)! Yummy!!

Chocolate cream cheese cupcakes

Because I'm feeling super generous, here's the most amazing recipe ever, so easy to make and very delish!


Chocolate cream cheese cupcakes

Cream cheese filling


1 8oz cream cheese softened
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/3 cup of sugar
1 pinch of salt, I would go less than 1/2 teaspoon

In a small bowl combine first 4 ingredients
add 1 6oz chocolate chips and set aside

Cupcake recipe

1 cup of sugar
1 1/2 cups of flour
1/4 cup of cocoa
1 tsp of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of water
1/2 cup oil
1 Tablespoon vinegar
1 tsp of vanilla

Mix all of these ingredients well
Fill muffin tins lined with paper cups 1/3 to 1/2 full
Drop a large spoonful of mixture on top

Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 mins.

Eventful day!

Today was our spouse social, basically a bunch of wives get together once in awhile, getting to know each other better, it was at a place called a cup of tea, in Kailua, it was a cute place, we all got dressed up, basically ha little finger sandwiches, scones, teas, and desserts! I'm not going to lie those scones were amazing!! My foot on the other hand HURT, no where to prop it up, basically my leg was swelling over my cast, toes bright red! I can not keep it down that long, the pain sucks!

Before we left, my sweet, loving, adorable husband came home with a few presents for me, hello kitty duct tape, some sharpies to sign my cast, and a very pretty necklace that he broke lol, just needs a new chain :) his sweetness melts my heart! I love him :)

Tonight he cooked chicken fried rice, my favorite!! Watty came over, now they are playing league of legends and I am in bed lol

Ok, this one is way worse lol, it's fiberglass and allows no movement, it's awful, I hate feeling claustrophobic!

The stitches were removed, I cried of course! Ugh it was just so gross, the doctor came in and messed w my toe, that felt like a bunch of bees stinging my big toe :-/
